 Oil on board, signed. This picture is one of two small Isherwood paintings in our collection. These have been in our possession for over 20 years. |  Painted by Joe Tilson whilst on tour in Spain and Portugal, immediately after leaving art school. During this tour he painted many bullfight pictures and a study of these reveals the preoccupation with block shape and form rather than detail, and the abstraction of the images becomes more pronounced. We have four of Tilsons works from this period in stock. Signed and dated by the artist, in original frames. These are extremely rare examples of Tilson's formative work. |
