Ambrose Heal Modernist Dining Suite in Tubular Steel

A Very Rare Dining Table and Four Matching Chairs by Ambrose Heal for Heal's Ca 1930. first exhibited at Heal's White and Off White" exhibition art the Mansard Gallery in 1933. It was also exhibited at the Royal Academy's 1935 Art in Industry exhibition. It is well documented with photographs of the suite at exhibition being featured in the book At The Sign of the Four Poster Bed and also in Patricia Bayer's Art Deco Interiors. It also features in Heal's furniture catalogues of the 1930s P.O.A.

Unique Rocking Chair by Gordon Gray

A unique rocking chair with steamed laminated ash rocker/arm structure by Gordon Gray. Designed in 1960/61 whilst Gray was a student at Wycombe Technical College and won an award when exhibited at the International Furniture Fair at High Wycombe in '61, this chair received a special mention in The Cabinetmaker.

This is a signed and numbered example of the BNF chair by Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost and Dominique Perrault from the original edition by the Societé MartinStoll. The metal plaque to the upper surface of the backrest frame bears facsimile signatures of the designers and makers and the number 124 . Gunnar Gudmundsson Chief Chair 1960

This is a rare "Chief" chair or "Höfðingjinginn" by Gunnar Gudmundsson, Iceland, 1960, and made by Kristjani Siggeirson of Reykjavík. The chair has an oak frame with a saddle leather slung seat and back. The ends of the uprights and seat rails have inlaid block detail. The design owes much to the constructivist and De Stijl movements and in many ways resembles the early work of Marcel Breuer who also took influence from the movement. Two Available! An extremely rare, possibly unique set of four stools with solid, shaped teak tops and sides to the curved legs. the curved parts in bent plywood. These came with a matching dining table, the table has similarly curved supports and a scalloped edge all round (not yet photographed). The matching table and sideboard have now sold. We have seen an identical table with a Betty Joel / Token Works label (in wood frame and under glass). This set has no labels.
